Captain Travis H. Smith
Travis has been on the water since he could walk. Having grown up on beautiful old wooden Chris Crafts his whole life and piloting his step father’s 52 ft Chris Craft Connie, he was hooked. Selling his company in 2015 he decided to make boats his life and joined LYS fall of 2015. Travis has a beautiful wife of 23 years, two sons and a little black lab named Brie. Travis acquired his 100 ton USCG Master Captain License a few years ago to pursue his passion of being out on the water. Throughout the year Travis enjoys delivering people’s dream boats with his company Smitty’s Yacht delivery. Please reach out to Travis to buy that dream you have always been looking for or if its time to just hang it up or upgrade, give him a call. He has been serving the tri-cities community for 27 years.
Gary Ferguson
I was first introduced to the world of sailing in my pre-teenage years in the late 1950’s.
I started on 11’-6” Penguins. At the local Yacht Club I build, along with family and friends, 11 of the Penguin Class cat rigged boats. Over the next few years I sailed Lightenings, Lasers, Force 5’s, and E-scows. I then moved to my first “Big” sailboat, a Pearson Electra, the forerunner of the Ensign.
During years spent at Michigan State University undergrad school I joined and sailed in the MSU Sailing Club. Next I spend 3 years not in the sailing world as I enlisted in the United States Marine Corp, deploying to Vietnam for about 20 months. Upon an honorable discharge and returning home I moved back into sailing by way of crewing on many other sailboats.
I have owned, raced and sailed the Great Lakes extensively on my own boats. Among there were an Erickson 38, a Britton Chance 36 (cold-molded wood boat), and my current cruiser/performance sailboat a C & C 37-7.
In 2013 I organized and became the President of a youth sailing school (non-profit 501-C3 organization) located in Ludington. We reach out to youths from 8 years to 17. I am member of the U. S. Sailing Association, and a Past Commodore of the Ludington Yacht Club and currently on the LYC racing committee. And in my spare time I offer sailboats for sales.

Captain Brady Anderson
My name is Captain Brady Anderson. I have spent my whole life on and around the water. I was born in Traverse City, MI where I grew up working on charter fishing boats. I developed a passion for boating, fishing and our beautiful Northern Michigan waters. I am fortunate to have two brothers and three sisters, along with amazing parents, who are both business owners themselves. My parents were significant role models of hard work and dedication to what you love. I was blessed to be able to travel and experience different fishing and boating around the western hemisphere. Although I developed a love and knowledge for beautiful boats in many different ports, I still love my home and the Northern Michigan Area where we live. At the age of 19, I took the step to acquire my 25 Ton Master Captain’s License. A year later I started my own charter fishing business. I love to share my love of fishing with others and offer charter fishing in Traverse City’s West Bay when I am not selling boats. I was married to my beautiful wife, MacKenzie, in the winter of 2016. We live in the Traverse City Area and spent a lot of our time on the water. I was introduced to Ludington Yacht Sales when I purchased a beautiful Grady White. It was a great experience working with Adam Lamb, we became friends and I am now the Northern Broker for Ludington Yacht Sales, LLC. I have had a wonderful time getting to know my clients their boats. It is extremely rewarding to be able to provide my clients with a great offer for their boat and to introduce them to the boat of their dreams.
